Reflections On The Sun 2
recycled red cedar house siding and trim, Ecopoxy (soy-based resin), acrylic paint. Square panel, dark-stained cedar grain visible throughout. Black carved concentric semicircles occupy the upper half — carving is the primary mark-making tool. The lower hemisphere holds burnt orange and deep red pigment transitioning to golden yellow textured material at the base; the sun’s heat rendered as layered pigment and granular medium over wood that once stood in an old-growth forest.
