Love Looks Pretty On You

Collado’s largest canvas in the Additions exhibition — 48 × 48 inches of mixed media. The canvas divides into competing thermal zones: warm orange and red dominate the upper field, deep blues and teals hold the lower third, a central white passage suspended between them like a decision unmade. Geometric shapes — ovals, small squares, rectangles — sit atop gestural washes that bleed and blur across the surface. Collado builds these canvases the way revision works: nothing is declared final until it has been partially covered, reconsidered, allowed to show through. The scale makes that argument visible.
