I begin with the worn, the layered — a frescoed surface on birch panel that feels as though time itself has moved through it, leaving traces of cobalt, red, and pale turquoise beneath a soft, translucent wash. Beneath the surface a butterfly emerges, half-hidden among the aged textures, a secret held in the patina. Then the drips arrive — bold, unplanned, unmistakably now — gentle old meeting dynamic new.
