The position

Most galleries pick a side. Some serve a small circle of collectors at prices that exclude almost everyone. Others serve everyone, but selection becomes a database query and provenance becomes a checkbox. JG Art Gallery was built to refuse that trade-off.

Curation that earns the wall, transparency that earns the trust. Every work selected the way a gallery selects, every price shown the way a serious commerce platform shows. Sculpture · Salvaged cedar

Andy McConnell

A new body of carved and salvaged cedar — old-growth cedar and burl pulled from job-site dumpsters and free piles on the side of the road. The dark surfaces are stained and polished.

Pacific Northwest. Fairhaven College — poetry and painting with Robert Sund. Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science, Bastyr University. Influences: the Northwest Mystics (Mark Tobey, Kenneth Callahan, Guy Anderson, Morris Graves), George Tsutakawa, Michael Dailey, Clayton James.

Forged iron · Sculpture

Maria Cristalli

The forge is a studio where the material sets the schedule. Iron at working temperature is briefly compliant, then closes back into itself — the smith reads color, timing, and resistance and works within those terms. The pieces carry the evidence of every threshold crossed in their making: from molten, through workable, through solid. Each transition recorded in the surface.

Twenty-seven years at the anvil. BFA, University of Washington. Public art at Bellevue, NYC's MTA Arts for Transit, Hotel Windrow Ellensburg. Shown at the National Ornamental Metals Museum (Memphis), Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Bellevue Arts Museum.

Wood relief · Painted panels

Jill Kyong

Minimalist wood reliefs and panels carrying the wood's bare grain, with painted geometries that read like horizons. The cleanness is not absence; it is precision. Where McConnell's wood is carved and polished, Kyong's wood remembers stillness. Practice spans wall reliefs, sculpture, and studio furniture.

Korean-born American artist based in the Pacific Northwest. "Through observations of nature and the world around us, my work centers on quiet moments that give us hope."
